Winter Fun

Last weekend we got a bunch of snow in Denver. It was fluffy, beautiful snow. Too bad Denver has no sledding hills. Matt & I decided to enjoy the great outdoors by running around City Park:
The snow made a nice crunching noise. We like our neighborhoods because of the nice parks nearby for running. I still miss Green Lake in Seattle though.

Then on Super Bowl Sunday, which is 4 yrs exactly after Matt and I met, we drove out to Rocky Mountain National Park for a snowshoeing excursion. I gave Matt a GPS watch and he always tracks our runs/hikes, so I will post that link soon. We snowshoe'd about 5 miles on Cub Trail. We also saw about 100 elk having lunch. It was a beautiful day in the Rockies.

Tonight I have been running on the La Quinta treadmill to Glee. Looking forward to running outside again when it's not negative 5 degrees! Burrrrr!

Fitness thought of the day: some exercise is better than none. Even 5-10 minutes of cardio is better than sitting on a chair at La Quinta...or anywhere else.

  1. I think the coming trend for people hiking around in the wilderness is to always have a GPS device and a cellphone which is all charged up and has good coverage (not like my company AT&T). That way if you're caught in a blizzard or avalanche you can send signals of where to find you. It could be that this is standard procedure--what do I know about it? Four years for you and Matt. What I remember was that it seemed like you made the quickest, happiest transition I've ever seen from one significant other to another. Might be the best move you ever made!
